I think it is very important to stretch our body and make muscles flexible as possible.
I started stretching when I was taking dance classes decades ago since then it became my daily routine and I am kinda addicted.
Over the years I learned all different kind stretching from dance classes, health magazine, on internet etc. etc...and create my own whole body stretch routine for morning and night.
I do 10 minutes stand up position stretch routine in the morning, 30 to 45 minutes on the floor stretch routine at night mostly everyday.
I'm not a expert I don't show you how I stretch here but you can easily find basic poses on youtube, health blog etc. and create your own routine.
If you do stretching you already know, if you don't please do simple stretch routine everyday for at least a week I'm sure you will feel power of the stretching.

Jacob riis park is located on far rockaway in queens.
It's bit uneasy commute to get there by mass transit.
Have to take subway to brooklyn college station which is last stop of 2/5 train in brooklyn, then take a bus from there.
The bus was packed with beach goers so be ready to hassle.
Or they have NYC beach bus this summer from downtown brooklyn or williamsburg.
This summer "Riis beach bazzar" is going on.
They have few foods vendors you can get some yummy on the beach.
(But I still suggest you should bring enough drinks and snacks with you before get on the bus. they don't have any stores out there)
This is a huge beach park you can relax or play on the beach, even rent out beach bikes too.
